Loud Hardy clickers qualify as what models???

Any of the old hardy reels, Marquis, St. John, Perfect. If you want a new one off the shelf then a Marquis is the way to go. Fairly cheap price and built very solid and simple. Back in the day Hardy followed the saying "keep it simple stupid" when designing their reels. Many pre and post WW2 era reels are still in use today.

Moose, that Hardy St John in the pic above was used by Dad for years and I never saw him grease it. When I got it I cleaned it with soap and hot water and greased it and it winds as smooth as brand new. they can't be beat!

I have a St. John which has been handed down three times, grandfather, father, me and it still works amazing.  I also ordered a brand new St. John of eBay a few years ago and it is an amazing reel.  Then along came the ultralite!.....

I really loved the Ultralite, like a fine piece of jewellery, I just found it a little too delicate for my clumsy tendencies; I had a nasty ding in the rim after only two outings. Also it has a nice sound but I had played and landed a nice rainbow and the guy fishing behind me had no idea because he couldn't hear my reel screaming. I just like noisey reels I guess

on another note, I was amazed at how much difference the large arbour on the ultralite made when playing a fish; much easier to bring 'em in quick!
