Handtailing is much much easier on big fish then little ones, its almost like they know whats gonna happen .... That being released;). But everyones different

Slick for sure but what I also like is how he protects his reel by using his hat. I never thought of doing that and since I just got a new Marquis Salmon 1, I might give this trick a try.

Bob Clay is a master rod builder I've had a rod or two of his in my dreams for a few years now but I know that as far as they will get is in my dreams.

One thing to think about in this video besides our salmon generally not being as co-operative as that steelhead, is that he is most likely using a poly leader. They are not as sharp on the hands as the mono leaders we use here for the most part.
